Our Story

Two creatives who embarked on their filmmaking journeys around 20 years ago had an opportunity to reunite where it all began, showcasing their craft and passion. They set out to find a project that was both unique and suitable for a very limited budget. No problem, right?

Until it hit: writer’s block. Day after day, hour after hour, Lisa would write, and it was rubbish. She was stuck in a cycle in her own head. Deep into what felt like day 50 of writing, She paced on her porch, feeling dejected until inspiration struck.

“Don’t act like a writer. Be a writer.” She went upstairs, threw on some tunes, and began to write. Lisa wrote that she erased everything she had put down. She wrote that she was being fake, that the characters she had written about were not real, and how this made her feel. She wrote that she made a cup of tea, had a smoke, and flicked it into the garden. She was finally writing, and it was working. She could feel it! Now it was time to find the artists to bring this to life in front of the camera.

Shane and Lisa both approached their dream cast to bring this to life in front of the camera. Lucy Davis and Eric Johnson. They sent over the story and were in awe when both Lucy and Eric accepted. The dream was manifesting into reality.

We had the budget, the story, an amazing cast… What was missing? Right, ALL the creative technicians who would execute this into reality with us. Lisa and Shane along with producer Megan worked to put together a passionate little group of pros. We felt spoiled to have such a wonderful team and are proud that it shows in this final film.

As creators, we’re intimately familiar with the struggle of doubting our art and worth, especially when faced with the imposing wall that looms over us, occasionally threatening to crush our spirits as we stand helpless before it. Our film is all about overcoming those pesky self-sabotaging obstacles with a bloody glitter bucket of humor and horror. We hope “HAVE A GOOD DAY” brings squeals and smiles and resonates with audience as much as it did with us.

Here’s to laughing in the face of fear and finding light in the darkest of places!
